Learn something new and discover your inner artist

It's not the camera, it's the photographer that makes a great photograph

Do you want to take your photography to the next level and wow your family and friends? You can, and you don’t need an expensive camera to do it. It’s really all about the light and how to use your camera to best utilize that light.

It's all about the light

Knowing how the light will affect your photograph is the difference between taking a snapshot and creating one that your friends will rave about. And once you learn the potential of your camera and yourself, you’ll be creating some beautiful photographs in no time!

Discover Your Inner Artist

Learning the art side of photography is fun and you'll discover that you really do have an eye for creating amazing photographs!

I work to ensure all of my students are well-versed in techniques of photography because a good base of instruction is the most reliable wellspring from which to create new pieces of art that you, your family, and friends can be proud of. Every one of my students is my top priority, and I help them find their inner artist by teaching them how to get everything out of their equipment, as well as giving foundational instruction on composition, coloring, and other essential photography techniques.

Learn the Technical Stuff

ISO, aperture, shutter speed, equivalent exposures, oh my! Do you feel that the technical jargon is too confusing and difficult to learn?

I remind my students to be patient with themselves when it comes to learning this side of photography. Learning this stuff to the point of not having to think about it, or by using a cheat sheet, happens over time and with a lot of practice.

Practice Makes Perfect

The assignments I offer my students provide an easy to follow method to practice one aspect of photography.

We'll work on that area until you feel you are comfortable with it before moving on to the next subject.

During each lesson (after the first one), we will review your work and I'll answer any questions you may have.

I encourage all my students to do the assignments before their next lesson. But if they get stuck and cannot complete it, I'm available by email, text or a phone call to help out at any time.
